The DP Score Promise
Our 10-dimension DP score is fully transparent. Every weight and every test method is published here. If you know how the score is built, you can judge whether it matters to you.
10 Scoring Dimensions
Every product we review is scored from 0 to 10 across the following dimensions. The final DP score is a weighted average.

| Installation | 5% | How hard is it to install or set up correctly? |
| Design | 5% | Is the physical and software design thoughtful? |
| Support | 5% | How responsive and helpful is the manufacturer or seller? |
Rating Scale
Outstanding
Best in class. We would buy it with our own money without hesitation.
Great
Excellent product with minor compromises. Recommended for most boaters.
Good
Solid but not special. Worth considering in the right budget or niche.
Mediocre
Only worth buying if you have no better option.
Poor
We would not recommend this product to anyone.
Test Conditions
- Environment: Real boats, real water, real weather. No lab-only tests.
- Duration: Most products are tested for at least 2-4 weeks before review. Core gear is re-evaluated after 3-6 months.
- Tester Background: Each product is tested by the team member whose expertise matches the product category.
- Disclosure: We buy or borrow products. Manufacturers never see our reviews before publication and never influence scores.
Score Updates
Scores can change. If long-term testing reveals a durability problem or a firmware update improves performance, we update the review and the score. Check the "Updated" date on any review to see how current it is.
