General Description

The Contest 42S is in a class of her own and this late model 2002 Contest is no exception. There is good reason that there are not many on the market and that's because the owners just love their Contests . They are true holders of resale value and it can be truly said that quality of construction is at its highest with a Contest .
The 42 S construction is a vacuum infused hull and deck with isophthalic resins which means more time to construct and more expense in materials resulting in superior hull integrity. Lloyds put their name to the quality of the construction on a Contest Yacht which is CE CAT 1 compliant.

This Contest is a two cabin , two head and shower layout which gives great volume in the saloon living areas and in the L shaped galley. The layout is surrounded by a luxurious teak holly sole and traditional teak interior with light headlings and Flag Blue upholstery. The aft cabin is fit for a king with its own ensuite and central berth accessed by 3 sides . To add, the hanging space and storage is excellent and the quality and size of hatches allow for good ventilation and light intrusion.

The centre cock pit is a place where the whole boat can be controlled and is protected by a folding dodger and a great bimni with a sail viewing clear panel . Trim the head sail by pushing a button or push the track button and follow the plotted course automatically at the helm.Use the bowthruster to make berthing a breeze. The Flag Blue hull enhances the classic teak decks and the scooped transom is great for all round access to the vessel. This is a shoal draft version with winged keels. The vessel is powered by a Volvo 59 HP diesel engine and as expected has an efficient max prop propeller.
