General Description

World cruising comfort with safety and every modern convenience, that is this Bruce Roberts 53. Extensively refitted here in Phuket with a new Awlgrip paint job and all systems fully operational, she is ready for her new owner to jump on and go sailing. Very well built in South Africa in 9mm steel and teak decks, there is no safer yacht to sail in. Her present owner has been fastidious with regular maintenance, upgrades and full records of all equipment kept.

On deck you are well protected behind a solid dodger and with her fully battened mainsail and Fredricksen car system she is easy for a short handed crew to manage. Profurl furlers handle the headsails. Below there is a spacious saloon / nav area with excellent all round visibility and the engine room beneath. Huge aft master suite and enormous galley forward are perfectly suited to a live aboard yacht. Another two cabins plus V-berth handle kids, visitors, friends and storage. With a Perkins M92 main engine and 7.5Kw Perkins genset she is very reliably powered. Air conditioning is quiet and effective throughout the yacht.

Bruce Roberts has an enviable reputation for designing rugged, safe cruising yachts and when combined with the quality of build at Steel Marine in South Africa the result is a truly capable blue water cruising yacht. An inspection is highly recommended.
