General Description

There were days when England ruled the seas, this 1969 MacWester 28 gives a hint of why they did. This is a five-berth cruiser, built in England, with encapsulated bilge keels, a long skeg rudder, and tiller steering. She is built with the master craftsmanship that shows in the quality of detail and finish.

The interior joinery of these yachts are mainly varnished mahogany and teak woods with a very rich and naturally luscious appearance. Her large fore cabin has two berths, the salon settee converts to a double and there is one pilot berth. There is an enclosed head and galley to port. A two-burner gas stove, electric refrigerator, and galley drawers are the galley features. Separate hanging lockers provide wardrobe storage.

On deck we have three sails: main, jib, and genoa. There also a sail cover and Cruising Design roller furling for both headsails. There are two heavy anchors with chain and rode and a double action lever windlass. At the helm we find Autohelm self-steering, Apelco VHF, and Data Marine knot meter.
